"Over looking the City the King David Hotel before us. Reflecting on the day. Our hearts be enlightened of the love that God had for all people and has for us to this day. We stood in the courtyard inwhich Peter denied Christ, thinking if I would have done the same. So many followers He had, yet the only man with him at the Cross was John. The Apostle of love, so one can actually say there was 'love' at the Cross." - Dana
Thunder and lightning woke the team up for their first full day in Jerusalem. Rain is forcasted for the next 2 days. The adventure began as we set out with umbrellas in hand towards the old city. As booming thunder rolled above our heads, we ventured into the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. Taking in spectuacular views of the Western Wall and navigating the narrow streets the Jews call home. Rain and hail poured from the sky as we ate lunch and walked the streets. We had the privilege of decending below modern Jerusalem to the time of Christ and took in all the sights of this underground world. The Church of the Holy Seplicure wasn't on the list today, but we were priveleged to visit it. We spent about a half hour in the Church the Cathloics believe was the site of the crucifixion and burial of Jesus. The tunderstorm were amazing and truly showed the power of the Lord in this amazing place. We had the choice of taking a taxi or walking back to the hotel. Forget the taxi, there is no fun in that! The walk back to our hotel will never be forgotten.....and I will leave you with that!
Tonight we head to the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) for Shabot (The Jewish Sabboth Celebration) Unfortunitly no cameras will be alowed on site. So our next post will be in a few days. Tomorrow, En Gedi, Masada, climbing them both to the very top. Leaving nothing out! Swim (float) in the Dead Sea, making more memories with amazing awesome friends! Good Night! - Michael & Dana-
